McLaren has achieved a silver award for Investors in People, an accreditation that recognises a standard for people management. This is a considerable achievement and a step on from its previous accreditation against the Core Standard back in 2002. McLaren Construction are seeking to apply the IIP framework as a key part of its developing people strategy aimed specifically at improving its competitive positioning as the business continues to grow at a rapid pace.

The strongest areas identified from the assessment of McLaren Construction were seen under the following indicators:

  • Leading and inspiring people
  • Living the organisations values and behaviours
  • Empowering and involving people
  • Building capability

For an organisation going through the new Investors in People (IIP) assessment process for the first time, this is a strong achievement and one that the whole team is incredibly proud of. There is every indication that McLaren Construction will aim to achieve the Gold (Advanced) Level of the IIP Standard by the next assessment in 2020.
