Beaufort Gardens is located in a quiet residential cul-de-sac, in close proximity to Brompton Road. The project consists of the conversion of 41-43 Beaufort Gardens, formally the Parkes Boutique Hotel, to nine self-contained luxury residential units, built to Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH) Level 4.
The project will include the subterranean excavation and the creation of a new basement level below the existing lower ground floor. Underpinning is proposed to the party walls on all sides and to be extended to the basement level under the existing façade and pavement vaults. The existing building is to be demolished, retaining the front façade.
The new building will consist of a reinforced concrete (RC) core, walls and columns supported on pile foundations and support the RC flat slab at each level. Additional steel works at roof level will make up the inclined mansard, as well as trimming major openings in the slab at floor levels.
