McLaren Construction and Derwent London held a topping out ceremony at the Queens site on Bishops Bridge Road, which is currently being developed into high end residential apartments and retail space.

This prominent scheme, home of the former Queens Cinema, is situated on the corner of Bishop’s Bridge Road and Queensway. Designed by architects Stiff + Trevillion, the art deco façade has been retained and 18,700 sq ft (1,740m2) of high quality apartments and 2,700 sq ft (250m2) of ground floor retail space are being created.

Phil Pringle, Managing Director of McLaren Construction, commented: “Following on from the successful topping out of the Turnmill development back in March, we are very pleased to have reached our next milestone with Derwent London at Queens and will continue working positively towards the completion date in the Autumn.”

Queens is due for completion in September 2014.
