Quintain and McLaren today, 13 November 2018, announced a major milestone as they topped out plot W06 at Wembley Park, set to create 150 new homes, 115,000 sq ft of office and 10,000 sq ft of retail space.
Plot W06, located opposite the London Designer Outlet, is made up of two distinct buildings, including the first of four new grade A commercial buildings to be brought forward as part of the masterplan at Wembley Park, and 150 brand new rental homes.
The office block which is already 50% let to Network Homes, will include eight floors of open plan commercial space, as well as unbeatable views of the Wembley Stadium Arch and mixed retail at ground level. The commercial space will benefit from direct access onto Wembley Park Boulevard, as well as links to central London, in just 12 minutes.
The project also includes the latest set of build‐to‐rent homes being brought forward as part of Quintain’s commitment to deliver 7,500 new homes at Wembley Park, a third of which will be affordable. Adding a further 150 build‐to‐rent apartments across 10 floors, the block which will be managed by Quintain’s rental operator Tipi, will include a roof terrace, workspace and a dedicated coffee shop, as well as state of the art living facilities and beautifully finished interiors. The project will include 35 affordable homes, managed by the London Borough of Brent.
The event, hosted by Quintain and McLaren and attended by the Leader of Brent Council, Cllr Butt, was the traditional ceremony to mark the building reaching its highest point, before proceeding to project completion.
The project is McLaren’s second major project with Quintain at Wembley Park. McLaren is also building the adjacent W03 development, which comprises 340 build‐to‐rent apartments over 17 storeys, set to be delivered in 2019.

As part of McLaren’s commitment to community engagement in Brent, as well as educating the next generation and helping them to gain valuable experience in construction, the two sites (W03 & W06) have taken on 12 apprentices from Brent and the neighbouring boroughs and 147 people who live in Brent are employed across both developments. Two of the apprentices were nominated recently for the Pride of Brent Awards for their outstanding efforts during their apprenticeships.
Brent Council, Quintain and all four contractors working on the Wembley Park framework were rewarded for their community engagement work last month with an award at the Place West London Awards for Employment. Activities include DIY skills workshops for the public to help upskill the community.
In addition, the McLaren site teams support the local Ark Academy and recently volunteered to help with the regeneration of the school’s playground. There is also a keen interest in charitable work with local homelessness charity Ashford Place, organising fundraising and events for Christmas. The office building is set to complete summer 2019 with the residential building completing in February 2020.
