McLaren Construction held it’s first Contractor Awareness Day on 12 June at the Birmingham Motor Cycle Museum.

The event comes as part of McLaren’s SHEQ initiatives for 2014, which identified an event that would target the McLaren supply chain with regards to health and safety awareness within the industry.

The aim of the day was to improve health and safety knowledge and promote good practice within the business and seek to continuously improve health, safety and welfare performance within McLaren in association with our supply chain. Moreover, to provide practical advice and assistance to our supply chain on the provision and maintenance of healthy and safe working environment and promote training and learning in health and safety, along with providing information, advice and training to employers and workers within the McLaren supply chain.

The day proved to be a success and from this the SHEQ initiative looks to continue, thus holding further versions of these events up and down the UK.
