Celebrating Topping Out at Lexden and Steyne Road

Recently our Lexden and Steyne Road project team successfully celebrated reaching their topping out milestone – a significant step forward in delivering 188 new homes for the London Borough of Ealing and their community.

To mark the occasion, the team welcomed Cllr Peter Mason, Leader of the London Borough of Ealing Council, Cllr Louise Brett, Deputy Leader, Cabinet Member for Safe, Genuinely Affordable Homes and community representatives on the 20th floor for speeches and panoramic views of the city.

Speakers included Cllr Peter Mason, Leader of the Council and Richard Eager, Divisional Director. Both highlighted the collaborative effort and dedication shown that has brought the project to this exciting stage.

Ealing Council leader Peter Mason said: “These new homes mark a major step in tackling the shortage of genuinely affordable housing in our borough, giving local people the security, stability, and foundation they need for a better quality of life.

“We are building stronger communities full of pride, identity, and purpose, where everyone can benefit from the growing prosperity in our 7 towns. It’s not just about new buildings, but about creating abetter-connected borough for residents of all ages.”

About the project

Delivered on behalf of the London Borough of Ealing, this development project will provide a total of 188 new homes across three distinct building

  • Block A: A 20-storey building offering a mix of market sale and affordable housing.
  • Block B: An 8-storey Passivhaus designed building with 71 homes, specifically designed for elderly residents.
  • Block C: A 3-storey building with six family-sized, 3 bedroom apartments.

Additional facilities include a car park and a substation to support the development.

A key highlight of the scheme is the integration of Passivhaus design in 71 of the new homes, delivered in partnership with Beyond Carbon, and designed by Karakusevic Carson Architects these homes will meet the highest sustainability standards, support low-carbon living and help to reduce fuel poverty for future residents.

New community spaces will be created and shared with current residents, fostering a more inclusive and connected neighbourhood.

This milestone reflects the hard work and commitment of everyone involved, and we look forward to the positive impact Lexden and Steyne Road development will have on the wider community.
